Pixies' influence on modern rock is well documented, but the fact remains that no other band has been able to match its exquisite mix of pop hooks and unabashed weirdness. The bigger and balder version of the band took several long-awaited victory laps a few years ago. Now Pixies have boarded the reunion train again to celebrate the massive Minotaur box set and, more specifically, the 20th anniversary of Doolittle. Many fans argue that Surfer Rosa is the band's finest half-hour, but Doolittle is no slouch, as will be proven by these three shows, which find the quartet playing the album in its entirety. There are also promises of attendant B-sides and, if you stick around, other assorted fan favorites.
