SF Weekly Presents: Tamara Palmer

Born in San Francisco, Tamara Palmer dreams melodies, breathes beats and responds to bass. She plays the clarinet and the turntables, but not at the same time—though perhaps she should. A former editor at URB during its formative years, Palmer is also the author of Country Fried Soul: Adventures in Dirty South Hip-Hop, the first book on the market to celebrate Southern rap music. Despite this wonderfully digital age, she is a DJ still stubbornly clinging to vinyl. And while she enjoys taking prom-like pictures with rappers, she despises the burgeoning trend of adult prom-themed parties.

This is a link to a DJ mix she has on Odeo. Fireal.
