By decree of your San Francisco City Supervisors and the executors of the Jimi Hendrix Estate, today, Sept. 13, is officially Jimi Hendrix-Winterland Day in San Francisco.

There will be a celebration of the man tonight at Amoeba music, where Janie Hendrix (Jimi's Sister) and funk master Bootsy Collins will be meeting and greeting Hendrix fans in honor of today's release of a new four-disc, Hendrix at Winterland box set. The party goes down at 7 p.m.
Whether you can make it or not, join us in a brief, six-song celebration of Hendrix after the jump.
