Someone in Oakland is doing something utterly evil to German shepherd puppies and PETA is taking action.

Over Memorial Day weekend, two German shepherd puppies were found in a pile of junk, malnourished — one with a broken jaw that hung down and another with a missing paw. On Monday, another four-month-old German shepherd husky puppy with a broken jaw and bloody paws was found in the same area of 89th and G streets in Oakland.

Rocket Dog Rescue rushed to stabilize the puppies and is helping them recover, though one of them must undergo surgery.

“It wasn’t until they were pulled out from under all that garbage that the actual horror of their condition set in,” wrote Rocket Dog Rescue on Facebook. “Was this an intentional act of abuse? Or just terrible neglect?”

PETA has chipped in to double the reward to $10,000 for information that leads to the arrest of the culprit. Pet Food Express first offered $5,000.

Oakland Animal Services launched an investigation and are working with law enforcement. Meanwhile, PETA is asking the public to print out their reward posters to help spread the word.
