BART Evacuates Rockridge Station to Search for Suspicious Package

Major delays are expected after bomb-sniffing dogs search for a reported suspicious package.

UPDATE, 4:05 p.m.: BART reopened Rockridge station but service is still recovering.

“They have concluded their investigation and have found nothing suspicious,” says spokesperson Alicia Trost about BART police. “We are in recovery.”

BART has evacuated and closed Rockridge station after a rider reported a suspicious package onboard a train.

An alert first sent out at 3:26 p.m. indicated police activity at Rockridge BART station, where bomb-sniffing dogs are searching for a suspicious package. Rockridge station is closed until further notice while MacArthur has reopened.

BART expects major delays in both Antioch and SFO directions.
