San Francisco sees its fair share of crime — some serious, some less so. Here at SF Weekly, we’re paying attention to all of it — from the mundane to the bizarre. Here’s a roundup of some of the weirder situations that went down in our 49 square miles this week:
A 51-year-old man was left in serious condition after suffering an assault by an unknown assailant on the 100 block of Howard Street early Thursday morning. According to SFPD, the victim was walking down the street when the suspect, a man in his 30s, approached him and began yelling. He then punched him, and as the victim retreated, punched him again. Witnesses separated the pair, and the victim was taken to the hospital.
Two men have been accused of stealing perfume from the 2600 block of Geary Boulevard (most likely ULTA Beauty). On Thursday afternoon the duo walked into the store, selected several bottles, and ran for the door. A security guard attempted to step in front of the men and prevent them from leaving but was tackled as the thieves fled the store.
Paintball Gun Assault
A man was shot by a paintball gun shortly before 11 p.m. on Sunday night, as he walked near Candlestick Park. The suspect allegedly fled on foot after committing the crime.
When Teens Attack

According to SFPD, the victim was in a business on the 1000 block of Market Street (between Sixth and Seventh streets) when he was surrounded by a group of 10 teenagers, ages 14-17. They followed him outside the business onto the street, where they jumped him and stole his cell phone, wallet, and cash.
