Father of Calvin Sneed, Slain Pimp, Says His Son Didn't Deserve to Die

Police looking for Mission District kidnappers

The Chron brought us an illuminating story this morning, in which the father of a slain pimp who was preying on a San Francisco teen says that while his son might have been a low-life dirt bag, that doesn't mean he should have been killed.

Charles Sneed, 53, spoke with the Chron after Barry Gilton, 38, a San Francisco Municipal Railway driver on disability, and 37-year-old Lupe Mercado were charged with shooting the Calvin Sneed to death. The DA claims the couple was upset that Calvin Sneed had been pimping their 17-year-old daughter, and took matters into their own hands.

“They became God for a moment. They didn't wait for the judge, the trial,

they did it right then and there in the street,” The elder Sneed said.
