You may have heard that a little show called Hamilton is coming to San Francisco, and that tickets are in rather high demand. Just for kicks, we cruised some ticket resale sites to see how much Hamilton tickets are going for on the secondary market.
How expensive are Hamilton tickets now that the show is sold out? Hold on to your powdered wigs, people. We found tickets going for as much as $15,000 apiece on StubHub.
To be fair, these two tickets priced at $15,000 apiece on StubHub are total outliers. They are for the opening night performance on March 10, so that skews their value upward. For the very next evening’s show, the most expensive ticket on StubHub is “just” $3,333.
Still, those $15,000 tickets are in the third floor balcony section — they have a face value of just $100. Oh, to see the look on the face of the person who buys those $15,000 tickets when they realize this.
We should point out that most Hamilton tickets are priced in the $500 to $5,000 range on StubHub, Craigslist, SeatGeek, and other popular resale sites. These prices are dynamic, and can fluctuate significantly over time.
Hamilton opens on March 10 and runs through Aug. 5 at the Orpheum Theatre in San Francisco.
