A collision between a “dump-style truck” and a Muni bus on Friday afternoon has stalled traffic on southbound Highway 101, just north of the Cesar Chavez exit.

California Highway Patrol tweeted about the incident shortly after 4 p.m., stating that several lanes were closed and that commuters should expect delays.

The San Francisco Fire Department reports that one person suffered critical injuries, and five sustained minor injuries.

UPDATE, 5:15 p.m.: Reports have come through that the driver of the dump truck has passed away from their injuries.

CHP reports that the two left lanes of Hwy 101 southbound are open, but the two on the right are closed for the collision investigation. It’s estimated that all lanes will reopen by 7 p.m.

This is a breaking news story. We’ll update as more information becomes available.
