Muni Line Shut Down After Train and Police Vehicle Collide, Four Injured

Perhaps 2012 will be a better year for Muni

Update (8:30 a.m.) Muni Spokesman Paul Rose tells us that Muni service is up and running again, just in time for your commute.

Original story (8 a.m.): The Third Street-T Line is out of service this morning after a police vehicle and a Muni operator collided in the Dogpatch neighborhood, according to Muni.

The accident happened at about 5:45 a.m. when the patrol car collided with an outbound Muni streetcar on Third and 22nd streets, said Paul Rose, spokesman for Muni. Four people were taken to the hospital with moderate injuries, including two cops and the Muni operator. A passenger was treated for minor injuries, Rose said.

The cause of the incident is still being investigated, Rose told SF Weekly.
