Pedestrians vs. cars

Two pedestrians remain in critical condition today after being hit by cars in separate incidents on opposite sides of town.

The first accident occurred at about 11:55 a.m. when a skateboarder rolled through a red light on the corner of Eddy and Jones streets, where he was hit by a white truck, police said. The victim, a 34-year-old man, was taken to San Francisco General Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

About four hours later, a 61-year-old woman was walking through a crosswalk in the Richmond District when an elderly driver struck her, according to police.
