Police are asking the public to help track down two men responsible for brutally beating and robbing a San Francisco man as he walked through the Tenderloin nearly two months ago.

On Oct. 11, at about 5 p.m., the 31-year-old victim was walking at Ellis and Jones streets when the suspects approached him and started beating him. They took his cellphone and his money, and left him bleeding in the street.

An hour later, the victim's friend found him on the street. He was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Although he has since recovered, police are issuing an alert to the public to help find the two suspects.

“We don't have much more [information] than what we sent out,” said Officer Albie Esparza. Investigators are “hoping witnesses will come forwards or leads.”
