SF Weekly Staff Writer Peter Jamison Named a Livingston Awards Finalist

Maybe we're biased … but we think it's a winning piece

We want to announce that SF Weekly's Peter Jamison has been named one of the finalists for the prestigious Livingston Awards, which honor journalists under the age of 35.

Jamison was named a finalist for his September 2010 news feature, “Head Case,” which details how ex-football players with head injuries often end up in the criminal justice system.

“Chris Brymer's story deserved to be told, and it's gratifying to see my reporting about his case recognized,” Jamison says. “I'm also thankful that my editors gave me the time and direction I needed to understand and describe what happened to him. The interplay of football, brain damage, and the criminal courts would be tough to explain in the crime blotter.”
