Police arrested a man suspected of driving under the influence during a hit and run that killed a 61-year-old pedestrian Tuesday.

Allan Quiton, 40, allegedly struck the 61-year-old man on Tuesday shortly before midnight at the intersection of Ninth and Howard streets. The driver in a black Toyota Prius fled the scene but was located later using license plate information, police spokesperson Officer Joseph Tomlinson says.

Police identified the victim as 61-year-old Modesto Fegurdo, who was found deceased at the scene.

Quiton was booked for gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, leaving the scene of an accident, driving under the influence causing injury, and evading an officer with willful disregard. He remains in custody with bail set at $825,000.

On a Facebook page, Quiton writes that he went to the now-closed Woodrow Wilson High, and lists himself as a driver at Bay Cab
