San Francisco’s first homicide victim of the year was a 59-year-old man, according to information sent out by SFPD this morning. The incident took place shortly after 10 p.m. on Thursday evening.
The victim, Mark Camacho, was allegedly attacked by two suspects, ages 30 to 50, who stabbed him several times with a knife somewhere on the 2800 block of 25th Street, which is near Potrero Avenue. A small church, an auto glass repair shop, and Potrero Market are the only businesses that dot the short block, which is mostly residential and industrial.
The victim was transported to the hospital, but his injuries were too severe to survive. An investigation and hunt for the suspects, who are still at large, is underway.
