The plot thickens in the tragic death of Keith Harris.

When the superintendent of Estrella Apartments at 340 Hayes St. went to check on Keith Harris last Thursday, he found a grisly scene. Harris, 48, was suffering from life-threatening stab wounds as he lay on his apartment floor. Despite efforts from paramedics, he succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.

Harris, who his friends told the Chronicle was “very kind,” “really smart” and “really generous,” moved to San Francisco from Los Angeles in 2014. The Mississippi native can be seen skiing, backpacking, and at Burning Man in photos on his Facebook profile, which has now been transitioned into a memorial account.

For a week the key suspect in the murder — Harris’s partner, Alkoraishie Ali — was missing. But on Monday, San Francisco Sheriff’s deputies working at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital arrested one Othman Al-Muttalaby after he showed up with an unspecified injury. He has been booked in absentia on the charge of homicide.

SFPD cites “pending identification matters” as a reason for not releasing a booking photo yet, which Bay Area Reporter states is because Ali and Al-Muttalaby are the same person.

On a Facebook page of Alkoraishie Ali, he’s listed as a personal trainer at All About Fitness, and a part-time go-go dancer.
