Trio Stabs Muni Rider on 49 Bus

The 44-year-old victim has multiple stab wounds considered life-threatening.

A Muni rider is in life-threatening condition after a group of men stabbed him on a bus Saturday night, police said Monday.

The 44-year-old man was stabbed by three other men, estimated to be in their 20s, after getting into a physical fight around 10 p.m. Saturday, according to police. The incident happened on the 49-Van Ness/Mission line at Mission and Silver streets, SFMTA spokesperson Paul Rose confirmed.

The three suspects stabbed the man multiple times before leaving the bus on foot at the edge of the Excelsior. The victim’s injuries are considered life-threatening, police said.  

No arrests were made.
