In the past few months, there have been some…interesting crashes on highways. On July 5, a truck in Georgia spilled thousands of gallons of raw chicken bits all over the interstate. Earlier this week, hundreds of pounds of frozen cheese melted in a truck fire on Highway 680 near Fremont. But neither hold a candle to what went down in Oregon today: eels. Lots of slimy goopy ALIVE eels burst forth from their containers after a vehicle crash.
Our sister paper the San Francisco Examiner notified us of the case, which occurred on Highway 101 in Oregon. The Oregon State Police Department and the Depoe Bay Fire District, which is located in Gleneden Beach, Ore., responded to the crash on Thursday afternoon.
“HWY 101 mp 131 just got slimed,” Depoe Bay Fire District tweeted out. “Fortunately no injuries.”
