One block in the Tenderloin has experienced two shootings in less than 48 hours, prompting a police investigation.
San Francisco police say they responded to the most recent shooting just before 2:30 a.m. Wednesday near Eddy and Mason streets— just one block from Powell Street Station. A male suspect shot a 58-year-old woman while she stood outside, sending her to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The first victim found police nearby with gunshot wounds after being shot in the same area Tuesday around 1:20 a.m. The 37-year-old man also went to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The San Francisco Police Department has not made arrests for either case, which they say appear unrelated and that the suspects are unknown to the victims, Bay City News reports. Police also indicated that they would focus officers on the same block in response to the shootings.
