Drawn from the collection of the Hosokawa family in Japan — a clan with a 600-year-old lineage — Lords of the Samurai gives you a personal introduction to samurai culture. Superb examples of armor, swords, paintings, tea wares and more reveal how these legendary men balanced the precision of the blade with the perfection of the brush. On view at the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco – the only U.S. venue for this exhibition – through September 20.
