If you're going to Austin, Texas' annual music festival SXSW, remember the date March 20. On that day, SF-based indie Talking House records is throwing what it calls a "14-hour rager" featuring "a ton of the Bay Area's most interesting bands" at the Wave nightclub in Austin. Co-sponsored by Live 105, the event features a free day party and an official SXSW showcase in the evening.

Today, Blackalicious emcee Gift of Gab announced the October 27 release of his second solo album. Imaginatively-titled Escape 2 Mars, the new record features guest appearances by Del the Funky Homosapien, Brother Ali, Honeycut vocalist Bart Davenport, Joyo Velarde and fellow Mighty Underdog Lateef the Truthspeaker.
