Industrial music originators Throbbing Gristle have important historical links to San Francisco. Not only did the group's "last live performance" take place in S.F. -- at least before its 21st Century resurrection, that is -- but local friend/artist/agitator Monte Cazazza even came up with the phrase "industrial music" that would eventually name an entire genre.
