Industrial music originators Throbbing Gristle have important historical links to San Francisco. Not only did the group's "last live performance" take place in S.F. -- at least before its 21st Century resurrection, that is -- but local friend/artist/agitator Monte Cazazza even came up with the phrase "industrial music" that would eventually name an entire genre. Yet Throbbing Gristle has not returned to the city since the 1981 farewell performance that was recorded on the Mission of Dead Souls
