There's a funky kind of comfort to Honor Bar. Walking in, you're met with a big bucket of chilling beers — the best kind of greeting on any day. Grab a seat at the bar and enjoy the plush shag covering that runs underneath it, giving you — as you enjoy some of the most interesting and delicious cocktails around — the sensation of drinking on a giant Muppet. Bar manager Alex Smith and his crew are consummate hosts who will make you whatever you want, but taking their recommendations will give you the greatest rewards. The Porfiriato ($10, tequila, guajillo-infused mezcal, Cocchi di Torino, Licor 43, cinnamon bitters) is so rich and complex you could chew it, but even the less adventurous will find joy in the Queen Anne's Revenge ($10, hibiscus-infused gin, grapefruit marmalade, egg white, ginger beer, lemon) that is all at once frothy, earthy, and refreshing. If you eat meat, you'll have no trouble finding your happy place with chef Jordan Grosser's short-rib sliders ($5) or Flintstone-sized bone marrow ($10).
