Science Class with a Twist

The Full-Spectrum Science series with Ron Hipschman blasts visitors into an interactive learning experience on the third Thursday and Sunday of every month. The Exploratorium has received praise for its "eccentrically original" exhibits since its 1969 inception, emphasizing a playful approach that makes learning a lot less scary, a little more mad-scientist. Hipschman, a resident scientist at the museum, does all this and a little more: his bimonthly installments attempt to answer questions we all have about physical phenomena, from the highest pitch detectable to a human ear to the yardstick measurability of a sound. His first principle: have a great time.
