In recent years there's been a growing effort to create a culture of alternative tourism in San Francisco, with walking and bus tours that take people off the Embarcadero route into the underground and alleyway histories of the city's neighborhoods. On this expedition, multimedia artists invite us to get on the AudioBus — a mobile sound-garden on which audiophiles explore San Francisco with a dynamic soundtrack of their expedition unfolding in real time. This month, get intimately acquainted with Mission Creek: San Francisco-based composers Jeff Ray and Jorge Bachmann perform live scores suited to the scenery moving past, an exploration of water and the development of ideas surrounding it as our most important natural resource. AudioBus is meant to serve as a moving venue as well as a performance piece, so Adobe Books' Andrew McKinley pairs the music with narration.
