Terry Malts: Show Preview

"I don't care if it's going to fall apart tomorrow; I don't remember yesterday; this is what we're doing now." So begins Terry Malts' "No Tomorrow," a song that ably encapsulates the sound and spirit of the band itself: Ramones-esque pop-punk with distant, deadpan vocals and no fucks given about anything or anyone that isn't right here, right now. Terry Malts hasn't aged or matured much on its second Slumberland LP, Nobody Realizes This Is Nowhere: Only in a couple places, like the woozy melancholy of "Comfortably Dumb," does it give a hint at any depth behind those blaring guitars. But for fans of relentless, uptempo scuzz-pop, Terry Malts is a good way to forget the past and ignore the future.
