You can't spell "variety show" without "t" and "a"

There are a lot of burlesque troupes in San Francisco, but few of them can claim to have opened for Guns N' Roses, feature a choreographer who worked with Beyonce, or to have performed at rock festivals throughout Europe and Australia. But SuicideGirls: Blackheart Burlesque can claim all of this and more. The show started in the early 2000s, but has been on hiatus for the last six years. This latest incarnation is a blend of humor, raw sexuality, and pop-culture parody. The dance numbers somehow manage to lampoon Kill Bill, Game of Thrones, The Big Lebowski, Dr. Who and Planet of the Apes, all tied together by the spectacle of seven SuicideGirls stripteasing their way through those wayward plots. The SuicideGirls have a reputation for being sleazy and sensual, but they're also known for an alternative and artistic approach to beauty.
