Aunt Charlie's Tubesteak Tenderloin

Really, the only place to get royally fucked up on Thursday nights is at Aunt Charlie’s Lounge where DJ Bus Station John’s weekly worship service, “Tubesteak Connection,” throws down ultra-rare ’70s and ’80s disco and alterna-beats in the bowels of the Tenderloin.

Whether posing at the bar, shaking ass on the dance floor, or jonesing in line for the single-occupancy bathroom, you might want to get there early -- John’s night gets crowded right-quick. Arriving sooner rather than fashionably late might help you take advantage of the abnormally cheap booze, catch possible Bambi Lake (http://bestof.sfweekly.com/bestof/section.php?year=2005§ion=24953) sightings, and enjoy the brief calm before the greasy gay hipster storm rains down come midnight. ($3, 9 p.m. – 2 a.m.)

If risking your precious life in the ninth circle of the Tenderloin isn’t your idea of fun (snob), then you might want to check out Club Six’s reggae-infused “Give Thankz” -- that is, before the places bids us adieu, mon.
