To repeat, the world's biggest rock band made a surprise announcement over the weekend that they will release their new record 'In Rainbows' as a download independently from Radiohead.com in just 10 days. You can pay ... whatever you feel like for it. All offers accepted. [Sound of industry heads exploding from the confusion].

The latest from the PR:

There will be no advances, promotional copies, digital streams, media sites, etc. of RADIOHEAD's In Rainbows.

Everyone in the world will be getting the music at the same time:

Oct. 10. That includes us. We don't have anything to play anyone in

the nine days until the record is available. Everyone at nasty has

put his or her order in and just to clarify: you are not being asked

to pay for a promo (as some have inquired). you can pay nothing or as much or as little as you want.

There will be no promotional copies of the discbox either, as each

discbox is being made to order. Sorry.

Seems like the flacks are working full-time batting down such requests, and likely cursing Radiohead for playing by rules that are stil unwritten. To repeat: Radiohead is telling listeners to make them an offer to download their new album on 10-10.07. Want it for free? Just say so. Think it's worth $20? Pay them that. It really is up to you. What a life.
