I'm having trouble with more than one cunt. Shouldn't it be "cunci?" Maybe these very funny ladies can explain:

San Francisco's most legendary comedy venue

landed this fall's hottest female comedy tour for one night only.

November 15, The Purple Onion presents "A Confederacy of Cunces:

Smart. Funny. Unapologetic."

The tour boasts fresh, original material presented by a functioning

comedy snob, a self-proclaimed recovering comedy snob and a

functioning alcoholic.

Appearing on the show are San Francisco favorite Becky Pedigo (Comedy

Central Presents), Sarah Colonna (Last Comic Standing) and Alysia Wood

(National Lampoon Comedy Radio).

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Controversially Titled Female Comedy Show at The Purple Onion

West Coast Comedy Tour featuring comedians from "Last Comic Standing"

and "Comedy Central" tapes a DVD

SAN FRANCISCO, CA – San Francisco's most legendary comedy venue

landed this fall's hottest female comedy tour for one night only.

After 20 years in the business and a stop at Montreal's prestigious

"Just For Laughs" festival, Pedigo was rewarded with her own Comedy

Central half-hour special last year and an appearance on The Late,

Late Show with Craig Ferguson.

Pedigo says, "Usually, I don't do all-female shows for the same reason

I'm not in the Special Olympics. Being a woman isn't a handicap. I'm

funny, not 'funny for a girl.'"

Sarah Colonna was flown to London to film the prestigious The World

Stands Up and was a semi-finalist on Last Comic Standing this year.

Colonna says, "This is different for me. I don't normally do all

female shows, mainly because there aren't any dudes to hook up with."

Alysia Wood is one of the top 5 female comics on MySpace when it isn't

"glitching". She makes regular appearances on National Lampoon Comedy

Radio and Comedy Time.

Wood says, "Listen, I'll tell jokes anywhere."

The San Francisco show will also feature San Francisco comedians

Gretchen Rootes and Sherry Sirof.

The tour will be documented in a DVD.

Showtime is 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 online and at the door.

MORE ABOUT A CONFEDERACY OF CUNCES:

Not Your Stereotypical Comedy

Dictionary.com defines a "confederacy" as "an alliance between

persons, parties, states, etc., for some purpose."

It defines a "cunce" as "no results found."

Simply put, the show aims to unite an upper echelon of accomplished,

funny stand-up comedians (that happen to be women) with smart,

open-minded audiences and hopefully, a vodka sponsor.

BECKY PEDIGO

After years of entertaining crowds with her dry wit and conversational

style, Becky's career has risen to a level that has enabled her to

move into her car. But don't let this fancy lifestyle intimidate you,

nothing makes Becky happier that driving seventeen hours to battle a

drunk heckler from behind chicken wire. Well, except when she

performed at the "Just for Laughs Festival" in Montreal...that was

pretty cool. Also doing "Comedy Central Presents" and "Late, Late Show

with Craig Ferguson" didn't suck.

SARAH COLONNA

Sarah grew up in Arkansas...once she realized that there were no

comedy clubs there, she took off to LA. Sarah has been doing a lot of

things in LA since then that we can't talk about, so here is what we

can say...She's been a semifinalist on "Last Comic Standing" and a

Finalist on "Stand up or Sit Down" on TBS. Maybe someday she'll win

something. Also, she's been on "The World Stands Up" on the BBC,

"Premium Blend" on Comedy Central, and pulled numerous horrible pranks

on people on the hit hidden camera show "Scare Tactics". She's also a

regular at the Hollywood Improv and has a huge problem with people who

eat buffalo wings. "It's just gross," she says.

ALYSIA WOOD

After touring the country, Seattle comic Alysia Wood settled in Los

Angeles, quickly becoming a regular at Hollywood comedy hotspots. She

is in great demand on the national comedy club scene, having advanced

through the ranks in a very short period of time. She has been a

finalist in numerous competitions, including the California's Funniest

Female Competition. She appeared at the Boston Comedy Festival and on

"The WB" and "Fox." She is currently appearing on Comedy Time and

National Lampoon Comedy Radio.

Plus Special Guests Comedy Central's SHERRY SIROF and GRETCHEN ROOTES!
