Joe Sorren "Astraea"
For the rest of the week, Joe Sorren is having a sale at his online shop. This is one of those sales that is way too good to be true. Buy any one of his prints, and get another one for free. Once you head over and see the quality and price of his work, it will be quite clear how much of a great deal this is.
The piece shown here really caught my eye: the layout and feel kind of reminds me of "Venus of Urbino" by Titian. The print is 24" x 24" signed and numbered in an edition of 50.
Alex Pardee "Night of the Treeple"
This image by Alex was used to promote his new "Night of the Treeple" apparel line. This is a 19" x 25" 7 color screenprint that was done by Burlesque Design. It is limited to 300, but the site says that there are really only a handful available. It's a killer looking piece, filled with color. A good majority of the prints on Zero friends have white backgrounds.
Mike Giant "Eddie Two"
The most recent Mike Giant show at White Walls Gallery inspired me to look around for some of his prints, and it looks like he has just released three new ones. He creates all his originals with sharpies, and they transfer over to the screenprints perfectly. Two of the new works are inspired by Eddie, the iconic mascot of Iron Maiden.
The print is a 1 color screen print, 18" x 24" and limited to 50.
Noferin "Morning Calls"
Noferin is an art duo from Australia with a catchy style. Cadny has a degree in graphic design and Nicho's is in Environmental Science, which surely helps them create these unique worlds. They create prints on paper and wood panels as well as toys. The piece featured here is 7" x 5.8", signed and numbered in an edition of 50.
Matt Cipov "Special Heads"
Otherwise known as Matty8080, this artist out of Milwaukee has a style all his own: his works are filled with various animals and zombies. He sells a ton of art via Etsy, and this is just one piece that I particularly enjoyed. The print is 8" x 10" on cardstock and has been "tinted, hand stamped, and labeled with the text 'SPECIAL HEADS". It also comes with a "signed and customized piece of manuscript tablet paper" that is mounted to the back. This is more like an original work of art than it is a print.
