Hey music geeks -- get your stereos prepped. Local public radio station KALW (91.7) will start airing Sound Options, a music talk show with critic debates and artist interviews, every Sunday at 2 p.m. starting this week. Unfortunately the program isn't locally based, and doesn't center on Bay Area acts and issues. But its two hosts -- Jim DeRogatis of the Chicago Sun-Times and Greg Kot of the Chicago Tribune -- are nonetheless well respected in the music crit field. This Sunday, Jan. 4, they gather round the radio mic to discuss the year in mixtapes. -- Jennifer Maerz
