In case you've yet to pick up this week's issue of SF Weekly, a couple music highlights for you here:

Emily Savage looks at what makes Noise Pop different from every other local music fest/good week in venue booking. The secret, it seems, is in limited-edition events, whether it's combining indie acts with orchestras, dragging Yoko Ono across the country with her son, or screening movies before anyone else gets to see them.

Oakland rapper D-Lo took a simple single, recorded at his mom's place in Modesto, and turned it into something Snoop Doog wanted to remix. Phillip Mlynar gives us the rundown on the long life of "No Hoe."

And Tony Ware gives us the scoop on the "fuzz-driven paranoia and psychedelic euphoria" in Vitalic's sophomore full-length, Flashmob.
