Sugar and Gold has been giving retro-futurist pop a funky home in San Francisco for over five years now. The upbeat tunes that comprise the quintet's repertoire epitomize the "free love"/"if it feels good, do it" nature of our city. Now, three years after the release of Sugar and Gold's sultry, smooth debut album, Creme, comes the band's sophomore release, Get Wet!. This tasty morsel of vintage synth-pop, "Stay Soft," is taken from that forthcoming album.

Straightforward dance beats, floating atmospheres, and a stuttering synth loop are all central to "Stay Soft"'s burning disco heart. Each of the track's elements connect back to '80s pop moguls like Quincy Jones or Giorgio Moroder, but also have much in common with contemporary acts Chromeo and Hercules & Love Affair.

Get Wet! will be released April 27 on Bay Area record label Antenna Farm, and Sugar and Gold will be celebrating the album's release April 29 at Bottom of the Hill along with Baron Von Luxxury and LA's Nite Jewel.
