Watch LA's Baths Perform at Robotspeak in the Lower Haight

Local electronic music software/gear hot-spot Robotspeak closed its Lower Haight door for the past month as a sort of breather before reopening with new hours and a new business model. The spot opens back up June 18, but until then, Robotspeak has hosted a couple of interesting performers. Yesterday, the UK's Gold Panda made an impromptu live appearance, and this footage comes from a preceding date with one of my current musical favorites, Baths.

Since my last post about LA singer/knob-twiddler Will Wiesenfeld, I've been on a bit of a fanboy slant lately, trying to inundate my eyes and ears with the producer's
unique style of indie-tinged beat music. I came across these videos of the solo artist doing his thing in San Francisco with local videographers Yours Truly documenting the magic. Between his bobbing, button-pushing dance moves, Wiesenfeld belts out lyrics with his high-register voice on these live performance clips of songs from his forthcoming album Cerulean, "Apologetic Should Blades" and "Plea." The sincerely friendly and earnest music maker also talks a bit about his musical inspirations between songs, giving us a little window into where Baths' poignant soundscapes come from.
