The future of parks and recreation in San Francisco is being built in Dolores Park, but a glimpse of the past can be found a mere mile to the south: Juri Commons, a tiny, blink-and-you'll-miss-it strip that cuts a narrow diagonal for a single block between Guerrero and San Jose.
Antiques Roadshow has nothing on S.F. Completed in 1924, The Legion of Honor fine arts museum was a gift from Adolph B. Spreckels and Alma de Bretteville Spreckels to the people and city of San Francisco in order to beautify the city.
Jack Ferry directed this simple, cute clip for the Berkeley-born Morning Benders' "All Day Day Light," from the band's still-stunning album Big Echo. It has the four band members bangin' through the song while changing clothes as the seasons inside the studio seem to change. Which means: fall leaves on the drum kit, and a snowball fight at the end. The song's lyrics flash insistently across the front of the screen in bright colors, like some '80s-meets-YouTube mashup. And never underestimate the mystery-enhancing power of sunglasses -- its the only thing keeping these guys looking like they aren't still fresh from the Cal campus (even if frontman Chris Chu and his brother Jon are the only ex-UC Berkeley students in the band.)Follow us on Twitter @SFAllShookDown
