San Francisco indie band Lilac released a pretty decent video for new single "So Young" yesterday. The video's description notes that it was shot on July 4, "with close friends at a Mission District backyard BBQ" -- and that's pretty much all you have to know.

Like the song itself, the video is woozy and dreamy, with shots of fireworks superimposed over the barbecue and a performance that seems only loosely connected to the music. The clip meanders through the day's activities -- with plenty of Tecate and grilling, of course. Check it out after the jump.

"So Young" was released online on June 7 as part of the band's S/T EP. Vinyl copies of the EP will be available in stores on July 19.

Lilac hits the Independent with Zodiac Death Valley and Cannons and Clouds on July 21.

DEVO was originally on the bill to support Arcade Fire but a kayak accident last week had sidelined lead singer Mark Mothersbaugh and the duration of the west coast leg of the tour. Win Butler did a homage to DEVO by performing Uncontrollable Urge.
