David Banner Takes Aim at Fake Rap Culture, Lil B, and Kreayshawn with "Swag"

On his new song "Swag," Mississippi rapper and producer David Banner mocks a criminally overused word and the cultural practices that fall under it. Banner affects a sneering tone and an uncharacteristically simple, whoop-punctuated beat for "Swag." Both are reminiscent of Berkeley swag propagator Lil B's stream-of-consciousness delivery, but Banner has a substantial message to communicate:

The homies is bustin' slugs, the women is shakin' ass, a white girl call us "nigger" and we just sit back and laugh and call it "swag" ...

Following the Game's recent diss cut "Uncle Otis," it's the latest tune to take aim at the White Girl Mob's use of the N-word. Columbia signing Kreayshawn has found herself caught in a racial crossfire, though she continues to assert that her "sister," V-Nasty, is the one who employs the liberal use of the epithet.

Listen to Banner's heated track after the jump.

In other endeavors, Banner wrote the score to the remake of Footloose, which is forthcoming in October, and is working on his album, MTA3: The Trinity Movement.
