While at South by Southwest, San Francisco garage-rock institution Thee Oh Sees did something a bit more unusual than playing a bunch of shows to sweaty adorers. One night on the back patio at Red 7, the band was filmed performing for Last Call With Carson Daly. The former TRL host even joined the band on drums for the very last song.

Last Thursday, Carson Daly upped his coolness factor by about 1,000 percent by showing two of the songs from that set, "Tidal Wave," and "Meat Step Lively" on his TV show. (Both sound much better than anything heard on Saturday Night Live in a while.) Incredibly, the part where Daly jumped on the drums didn't make it to national TV, but we found it on YouTube for you to enjoy. Check out the videos after the jump.

And here's a video of the whole set, which begins with Thee Oh Sees' John Dwyer bronoodling with Daly:

Next, Carson, will you please put the Mummies on TV? That would be rad.
