The Federal Communications Commission today approved the sale of KUSF 90.3 FM from the University of San Francisco to the Classical Public Radio Network, finding that the "public interest will be served by its approval." But the FCC also jointly fined USF and the Classical Public Radio Network $50,000 for USF having accepting payments in exchange for immediately making KUSF airtime available to CPRN, a violation of FCC rules.

This appears to mean that the sale of KUSF is complete, and that the beloved community radio station that was abruptly taken off the air in January 2011 is gone for good.
