The Riptide

Behold, the embarrassment of riches brought by Hardly Strictly Bluegrass: After the three of them spent the better part of Friday afternoon rocking the Rooster stage at the free festival's first day, Conor Oberst, Jenny Lewis, and Ben Kweller showed up at Outer Sunset watering hole the Riptide for an impromptu set. Intrepid photographer Chris Victorio caught the bar show and sent back these photos.

The San Francisco Street Food Festival was another success this year. Dozens of vendors with original, unheard-of creations, such as deep fried mac and cheese on a stick, black pea paste pancakes, and Korean quesadillas. Then there was the comfort foods we've grown accustomed to, like creme bruleé, shrimp rolls, and pound cake. Photographs by Mabel Jimenez.
