You know you're a guitar hero when effects makers look to you for new effects pedal ideas. And while we've (all) known for a long time that former S.F. rocker Ty Segall* was a legit six-string slayer, yet another coronation was just announced: Brooklyn's Death By Audio is making a brand-new, limited-edition stompbox inspired by the guy.

The Sunshine Reverberation pedal is a distortion-and-reverb circuit designed with Segall's ear-bleeding sound in mind -- all the better to get you sounding authentic while you practice that "Girlfriend" riff. There will only be 100 made by Death By Audio, which, as you may recall, is the Brooklyn effects shop founded by A Place to Bury Strangers guitarist-vocalist Oliver Ackermann. The stompbox is available for preorder now (for $200), and ships April 30. The first 20 orders also come with an autographed copy of a new split 7-inch with Segall and Chad & The Meatbodies.

All of which leaves us wondering what's next for Segall and his burgeoning rawk franchise: A signature model Fender guitar, perhaps? * He's already moved to L.A., sigh. - @iPORT
