So Noise Pop is doing another food- and music-pairing party this year (anyone remember Noisette last year?) but with a few twists: This time it'll be an outdoor block party on 20th Street; the bands performing are Two Gallants, Mac DeMarco, and Quinn Deveaux (so far); and, most importantly, it's free.

Well, sort of: We don't expect the high-end food retailers on hand -- Flour + Water, Blowfish, the American Grilled Cheese Kitchen, Central Kitchen, and many more -- to give away free food. That'd just cause a riot. But entry won't cost you a thing. So while you're enjoying the aggro-roots-rock of Two Gallants, or the surfy mischief of Mac DeMarco, or the smooth blues of Quinn DeVeaux, you may presumably have cash left over for primo grub.

The family-friendly block party takes place Aug. 24 from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. on 20th Street between Bryant and Harrison, and Florida Street between 19th and 20th. Sounds like this could be a fun new addition to the city's admittedly crowded music and food festival calendar.
