Last week, all four members of Metallica showed up to the official premiere of Through The Never, Metallica's hybrid concert film/sci-fi thriller, at the Metreon in San Francisco. Later this week, regular audiences will get a chance encounter some real-life Metallica members at the film, too. On Thursday and Friday, as part of a nationwide celebration of their new movie, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett, Robert Trujillo, and James Hetfield will be introducing the film at theaters around the country -- including right here in the Bay Area.
Hetfield himself will handle the two Bay Area appearances, including at the 12:15 a.m. screening of Through The Never at AMC Emeryville, and a 10 p.m. screening of the film at an S.F. theater still to be determined (we'll update this post when it's confirmed). Meanwhile, on the same night, Ulrich will be introducing the film in L.A, Hammett will head to Chicago and Milwaukee, and Trujillo will get Philly and New Brunswick. On Friday, Ulrich will introduce the film in the California cities of Riverside and Norwalk, Hammett will do Dallas and Houston, and Trujillo will handle Boston and Washington, D.C.
So, San Franciscans: good luck getting those tickets, and if you see James around here on Thursday, say hi for us.
