Kirk Von Hammett's first ever horror/music themed festival affectionately titled "Fear FestEvil" was hosted by The Regency Ballroom SF February 6-8, 2014. Added to the historical display of horror movie artifacts, supplied out of Hammett's own personal collection, were blistering musical performances by Death Angel, Carcass, Exodus, Orchid and Death Division. Also on hand were an extensive panel of horror film legends including actors, FX artists, writers, producers and musicians. Vendors were invited to occupy the entire lower level, which included celebrity art for sale by Jose Angeles, Clive Barker, Sara Karloff, Bela Lugosi Jr. among others, there were also tons of other movie and music collectables, including clothing, posters toys and masks.
If you're a horror movie fanatic, this was the place to be. Hammett did a fantastic job of marrying horror and music together under one roof. The amazing collection he brought along was clearly pure horror cinematic history, worthy to travel all over the world for every enthusiast to enjoy. Although these impressive relics filled the entire upper ballroom level, we later learned this was a very small portion of his actual vast collection…mind blowing.
