Oakland Riots: Things Turn Ugly

Following hours of largely peaceful -- or at least not overtly violent -- demonstrations regarding Johannes Mehserle's involuntary manslaughter conviction in the Oscar Grant shooting case, the scene turned ugly in downtown Oakland after dark. A number of stores, including the Foot Locker, were looted; Foot Locker paraphernalia was burned in the street and hurled at police. "As soon as the sun came down, the knuckleheads came out.
