DIIV, Black Marble & Chulita Vinyl Club at Cal Academy of Sciences, Thur. Oct 12th

Noise Pop presented the final installment in the 2017 season of Nightlife LIVE performances at the California Academy of Sciences this past Thursday, October 12th. Headliners DIIV performed a set of fuzzy, shoegaze-y tracks, while sporting jackets and sweatshirts to combat the crisp weather around the outdoor stage. Dreamy visuals and lights accompanied their performance, which paired well with their inquiry as to whether the audience appreciates drugs. Many did.

Support by Brooklyn’s Black Marble gave the audience a dose of darkwave / post-punk reminiscent of the always referential Joy Division, and the DJ collective Chulita Vinyl Club provided tunes for the venue the entire night, jumping from modern rock acts such as Yeah Yeah Yeahs, to soul and synthpop.
