Revolting Cocks, Front Line Assembly and Cubanate at Mezzanine, Nov. 12, 2017

Industrial music supergroup Revolting Cocks paid a visit to San Francisco’s Mezzanine nightclub this past Sunday, November 12th. Featuring original members Chris Connelly, Paul Barker, and Richard 23, and with added guitar and keys from Acumen Nation’s Jason Novak, the band performed their classic Wax Trax release “Big Sexy Land” in its entirety, then delved into classic tracks from the rest of their catalog.

The highly influential and long-running project Front Line Assembly served as direct support on the date, with original members Bill Leeb and Rhys Fulber performing classic tracks with live guitar and drums accompanying the usual keys and backing tracks. Cyberpunk and military visuals added visual flair to Leeb’s imposing stage presence.

Cold wave heroes Cubanate returned to the stage after a nearly twenty-year absence. Vocalist Marc Heal was in top form, singing with the same familiar growl heard on their classic records, engaging with the crowd, and smacking his head with his own hand. Dance floor hits like ‘Body Burn’ and ‘Angel Dust’ were a genuine treat to hear live, and they really riled up the crowd at the beginning of the night.

Bodyshock’s DJs Crxckwhxre and Unit 77 spun tracks between acts, with special guest DJ Sbarro Pregnancy (Eric from Everything Goes Cold) kicking off the night with some meaty, spicy tunes.
