We love us some lesbians, gays, bisexuals, and transgenders, and hope their center can pull it together (if you missed it, San Francisco's LGBT Community Center is asking the city for a cool million-dollar bailout). But isn't it a little ironic that a community center for people who have been fighting all their lives to be treated equally now wants special consideration?

Says the Chron: "If approved by the Board of Supervisors and the mayor, the bailout would

be the first time the city has used its general fund to guarantee

mortgage payments on behalf of a nonprofit, according to the budget

analyst's report."

Mayor Gavin Newsom doesn't sound so stoked on preferential treatment, although the Board of Supes wants to think it over. What do you think?
