Bevy of Charges Await Driver Shot By Police Officer

Posted By on Wed, Apr 14, 2010 at 11:45 AM

The female driver witnesses watched crash into at least five cars in SOMA before being shot by a police officer who claims she was attempting to run him over is recovering from her wounds in General Hospital.

But the driver's speedy recovery comes with an unpleasant caveat. "When she's medically cleared, she will be booked for some charges," affirms police spokesman Officer Albie Esparza.

The police didn't have a list of charges at the ready -- but when you

smash up a line of cars and then allegedly try to take out a police

officer with your car, it's not a trifling matter.

The driver's identity will be released by the police when she is booked -- and Esparza has no estimation of when that day will come. Also uncertain is the driver's sobriety at the time of the Monday incident.
